I am certain you are aware that the national minimum wage for 16-18 year olds is £3.68 an hour and £4.98 an hour for those aged 18-20. These are not only well below the rates of £6.19 an hour for people aged 21+ but it is also well below the national living wage which has been calculated at £7.20 per hour. Rising the minimum wage of those aged 16-20, would make a huge difference to the lives of young people. The situation at the moment is unacceptable and must be changed in order to create a fairer UK. Handling of the PUL flag protests has been, oppressive, overbearing, heavy handed, brutal and disproportionate. PSNI conspired to arrest PUL on trumped-up charges and unreasonably objected to bail whilst republicans walked from court unimpeded, some without bail conditions.\r\nOver 200 PUL people arrested/bailed with suggestions of another 500 to face this tyranny, differing from more serious Republican riots.\r\nFlag protests cost in excess of £20 million, an abuse of his position in trying to suppress legitimate right to peaceful protest by misuse of public funds. He failed to effectively liaise with local community reps, causing groups to walk away from meetings with police.\r\nHe failed our community whilst allowing republican terrorists to walk free from gaol and harsh bail conditions which exist for our community.\r\nFrom day one he caused confusion with PSNI and protestors alike.","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2013-03-13T19:07:27.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:56.725Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:40:55.382Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2013-03-13T19:07:27.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"irrelevant","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":12062,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/12062.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"stop corporate media","background":null,"additional_details":"I put this request to the government after they had a little tif with murdoch. the request is as follows: get rid of the sun newspaper and its sub newspapers, get rid of the times ltd, disband free right wing newspapers such as the metro and evening standard. to create a free press where there is no opinionanted newspapers that report about celebrity's lives; newspapers should be free from proprietoral influence and should have a duty to give us the news that matters in the world, this in turn could help the high number of naivety and ignorance within out country, this will make our country more politically motivated and in turn people will start to stand up for their freedoms.","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2011-08-14T15:31:58.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:26:58.597Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:34:32.330Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2011-08-14T15:31:58.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"irrelevant","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":47113,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/47113.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"MAKE THE POLITICIANS ACCOUNTABLE FOR OUR NATIONS UNPRECEDENTED DEBT & THE DOWNFALL OF OUR GREAT NATION!","background":null,"additional_details":"Labour's wasted billions of taxes and generations face paying back this debt with dire consequences of unprecedented cutbacks.\r\n\r\nGoing into the ‘08 crisis; Institute for Fiscal Studies: Labour had left the UK with 1 of the largest structural budget deficits in the developed world, most OECD countries did more to strengthen their public finances during Labour’s first 11 years in office than Labour did in the UK’\r\n\r\nBOE: We are confronted with a situation where the scale of deficits is truly extraordinary. There is currently no concrete plan to show this glorious film in the UK.\r\n\r\nThere are people alive in the United Kingdom right now who have not had the pleasure of watching this defining moment in 80's film history. What greater way to introduce them to double backward high fives, whooping and shouting of 'JESTER'S DEAD!' than in glorious 3D on a face meltingly large screen.\r\n\r\nI implore you to sign this petition and show that, even in this double (triple?) dip recession the British public can still show their love of half naked men who are pretty awesome at flying massive jet aircraft and shooting down those generic communist types.\r\n\r\nWe need this.","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2013-03-15T20:21:13.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:57.095Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:40:56.567Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2013-03-15T20:21:13.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"irrelevant","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":47240,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/47240.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"Stop DWP law change that avoid benefit repayments to those who have been unlawfully made to work unpaid.","background":null,"additional_details":"The Department for Work and Pensions has introduced emergency legislation to reverse the outcome of a court of appeal decision and \"protect the national economy\" from a £130m payout to jobseekers deemed to have been unlawfully punished.\r\nThis is all just to prevent a payout to those who have been unlawfully made to work for free.
