Many current students probably don't realise that, because of inflation, the real value at which they will start to be subject to the 9% payback rate on their loans will be much less than the value of £21,000 when they started their studies and when they agreed to the loan conditions. With inflation around 3% per year the real value of the threshold could be around £18,000 at today's rates, meaning having to pay 9% on an extra £3,000 every year for 30 years! I have already written to David Willets about this and I received a reply from the BIS Ministerial Correspondence Unit stating that \"the system needs to be understandable and borrowers need some certainty so the figure is fixed so that people become familiar with it\". To include plastics and waxed drinks cartons. Exceptions where it is impossible to use recyclable packaging due to the nature of contents. Make recycling easier for general public thereby encouraging more recycling at grass roots; would promote reduced landfill.\r\nAs interim measure, Government to legislate that all symbols on plastic recyclable goods be standardised in shape/size (size grades commensurate to the size of the item) and make properly raised, or accompanied by Braille, so blind or partially sighted persons can locate them as easily as the sighted.\r\nGovernment might consider taking responsibility for sorting ALL plastics discarded in waste encouraging more recycling of plastic packaging in general circulation and which sometimes cannot be identified as to its recyclability. This sorting facility would also create employment and could be financed by a tax on plastics producers.\r\n","committee_note":null,"state":"closed","signature_count":14,"created_at":"2012-11-23T08:43:23.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:36.924Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2012-11-28T11:27:54.000Z","closed_at":"2013-11-28T11:27:54.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2012-11-23T08:43:23.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":null,"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":44174,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/44174.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"stop all overseas handouts and use the money for British people first","background":null,"additional_details":"stop all public money being handed to other countries.\r\nstop expats living abroad from claiming benefit money","committee_note":null,"state":"closed","signature_count":14,"created_at":"2013-01-09T19:54:39.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:47.193Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2013-01-14T12:35:37.000Z","closed_at":"2014-01-14T12:35:37.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2013-01-09T19:54:39.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":null,"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":43275,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/43275.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"impose a quota of permits for eastern europeans","background":null,"additional_details":"UK Government must impose a quota of permits for A8 (countries joined in EU in 2004 Czech,Slovakia,Hungry,Especially Poland...) as Switzerland imposed and has an economy better than most others on the continent.\r\n raising concerns over issues of integration and compliance with minimum wage and working conditions Because of too many Eastern European Immigrants Especially from Poland,Czech,Slovakia,Lithuania and Hungary).","committee_note":null,"state":"closed","signature_count":14,"created_at":"2012-12-15T02:14:14.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:40.334Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2012-12-20T09:14:56.000Z","closed_at":"2013-12-20T09:14:56.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2012-12-15T02:14:14.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":null,"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":44380,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/44380.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"Tuition Fee Loans For Driving Lessons","background":null,"additional_details":"Currently the signing rules with Jobcentre require applicants to search for and accept any appropriate job within 90 minutes' travel. There are loans for most other kinds of adult study, so it makes sense to raise accessibility to the roads for anyone who would be fit to drive, regardless of financial background.
