No claims at all should be allowed for the running of a second home including utility bills and refurbishments.\r\n\r\nBetter transparency is also required with the various national trusts and local councils. Public funds need to be managed more efficiently.\r\n\r\nThis petition calls for an independent and auditable unit to be created, not sitting or siding with any party, in government, to manage MP expenses and ensure that no non-essential claims are made. This unit also needs to be responsible for reviewing practises in various national trusts and local councils to ensure the best use of public funds are made and ensure that no abuse or excess budget use takes place.","committee_note":null,"state":"closed","signature_count":11,"created_at":"2013-11-03T12:46:57.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:29:29.196Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2013-11-05T10:01:12.000Z","closed_at":"2014-11-05T10:01:12.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2013-11-03T12:46:57.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":null,"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":55823,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/55823.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"Save Charlie and Meg's Roundhouse","background":null,"additional_details":"Eco-couple told to pull down their 'hobbit home' made entirely out of natural materials . . . but without planning permission.\r\n\r\nWe want Pembrokeshire County Council to declare their home suitable for living in (like they have already done so for years perfectly fine).
