While I accept that some people are disabled and others do genuinely care for disabled people, I can't accept that as it stands, someone can claim to be disabled and that they can't walk far or get dressed by themselves and they get a mobility car along with disability benefits. That same person can then claim to be looking after someone, helping them to wash, get dressed etc and for that they would get carers allowance. This to me isn't right. If you get money for not being able to look after yourself, why the hell are getting money for looking after someone else.\r\nThis was bought to my attention by my local benefits fraud office and I think it's a loophole that costs this country and it's tax payers millions.\r\nPlease sign this and share if you would like to see this reassesed.","committee_note":null,"state":"closed","signature_count":11,"created_at":"2013-02-11T14:02:47.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:52.605Z","rejected_at":null,"opened_at":"2013-02-11T16:10:28.000Z","closed_at":"2013-11-11T16:10:28.000Z","moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2013-02-11T14:02:47.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":null,"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":51525,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/51525.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"Improve Child Protection Law To Help Childen In Need","background":null,"additional_details":"Currently in order for social services to act to observe a child they suspect of being abused they must gather enough evidence before the court will allow them access to the child and unfortunately this can lead to cases where it is too late and the child has been injured further.\r\n\r\nI want the Government to consider reviewing the amount of evidence needed before intervention so that children in need can be saved before its too late. In year 7 they should develop these into advanced skills and then in years 8 - 11 children should be taught how to write computer programmes using software / languages like scratch, visual basic and HTML.
