I think this is dangerous and unnecessary. If saving energy is so important I suggest turning every other street light off so that people can still see where they are walking. I recently had an evening out in Haverhill and walked home, it was a very frightening experience. I couldnt see where I was placing my feet, whether I was about to step on anything or was near a curb. It is only a matter of time before something happens to someone because they cannot see where they are walking. Also it is extremely dangerous for anyone on their own. Sikhs/Jews ethnic race, cult or religion? In Mandla v Dowell Lee (1983) House of Lords found that Sikhs constituted a RACIAL group when a Sikh boy was refused a place at a school because he wore a turban. The appeal was therefore allowed under Race Relations Act. This judgement was based on Sikhs long shared history & collective consciousness distinguishing them from other groups in customs, geographical origin, language, being recognised as a separate group in the surrounding community. Jews regard a person a Jew if born of Jewish mother. A person can be a Jew even if not practising Judaism. Surely belief in reincarnation would not require a believer to wear the insignias of Sikhism, Hinduism or Buddhism. Independent Scotland must find the resources herself to fund to secure her borders, in addition to free NHS, prescriptions, schooling and higher education, as well as funding  affairs of  state like: border checks, immigration, Scottish passports & driving licences, embassies, foreign affairs, EU membership, civil service, Inland Revenue, momentary system, policing, prisons, legal aid, welfare benefits, etc, etc. Independent Scotland’s economy may well be stretched.
