In Guantanamo bay, there are some human rights abuses and deprivations that are going on, for example, many of the prisoners there are denied their right to a free trial, and of the mere 7 prisoners that have had a trial and were convicted, 5 of them pleaded guilty in court due to pre-trial agreements – and these trials did not even meet the standards that a true fair trial has. The other people detained there have never been charged, tried or convicted of a criminal offence, and this in itself is illegal. The prisoners in Guantanamo are suffering immensely, and staying in the prison has given many arthritis - with alot of other medical conditions too.\r\n\r\nSources: http://www.amnesty.org.uk/guantanamo-bay-human-rights","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2015-02-05T20:47:49.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:30:31.364Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:46:02.881Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2015-02-05T20:47:49.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"irrelevant","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}},{"type":"archived-petition","id":34967,"links":{"self":"https://preview.epetitions.website/archived/petitions/34967.json"},"parliament":{"period":"2010-2015","government":"Conservative – Liberal Democrat coalition","dissolution_at":"2015-03-30T23:59:59.000+01:00","response_threshold":10000,"debate_threshold":100000},"attributes":{"action":"schizophrenia","background":null,"additional_details":"Any body using the word schizophrenia in connection with stupidity or gullibility should be treated the same way as those committing slurs against the gay community or of racism.","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2012-06-14T20:13:26.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:13.335Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:38:41.056Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2012-06-14T20:13:26.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"no-action","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}}]}
