Petition Appropriate punishment for convicted rioters

Magistratees and crown courts should have the option of passing down the following sentences to convicted rioters from August 2011;

Community service (discretionary hours) in worst affected areas that they were actively operating in on nights in question

Plus;

If over 18 and working full time - fined £25 per week for discretionary period to be set at time of sentencing

if over 18 and on jobseekers allowance - reduced jobseekers allowance by up to £25 per week for discretionary period to be set at time of sentencing

If under 18, fines (as listed above) should apply to parents/guardians of said offenders

All monies raised from fines to be redeplyed into communities offenders were vandalising at time of offence
