Long term unemployed to do supervised voluntary work one day a week or lose that days benefits. Supervision essential. The government need to liaise with the voluntary sector and arrange which areas the unemployed could best work in , but supervision is essential to ensure work carried out to high standard. Failure to supervise could make more work for the the voluntary sector.
