It is a legal requirement to store firearms securely when not in use, yet motor vehicles can legally be left in the street unlocked.
I propose that a safe keeping condition (similar to that applying to firearms) be introduced, requiring that "This motor vehicle must, at all times when not in actual use, be kept secured, with a view to preventing access to it, by persons not authorised to drive it".
