Current cost of maintaing the existing prison regime is extortionate. This petition will seek to build new prisons based on the American model, whereby the cost of housing prisoners is conseiderably lower, the main reason being the fact that these prisoners have few priviliges compared to our own system, which in addition does not deter the criminal from re-offending
