To punish a person who has not been accused of any crime is surely grossly unfair.\r\n\r\nThese evictions also punish council tenants in a way that is not possible for private tenants or home-owners, creating a two tier justice system.\r\n\r\nThe eviction of council tenants as punishment for their alleged crimes will only create a displaced and angry underclass, exacerbating the issues which lead to the unfortunate incidents of the past week.\r\n\r\nWe demand equal justice for all, and a measured and thoughtful response to these issues. No more evictions of accused rioters.","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2011-08-14T11:29:36.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:26:58.240Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:34:31.255Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2011-08-14T11:29:36.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"duplicate","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}}}
