Rejected petition Protection for the job title "Engineer"

Only allow someone to call themselves an Engineer if they have a Degree in that discipline i.e. Civil Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and Electrical Engineer. This would bring it in line with the protection Architects, Lawyers and Health Care Professionals titles have to name a few.

This would be a matter for the existing professional bodies (eg The Institution of Civil Engineers or The Institute of Structural Engineers etc etc)
