Petition Effective regulation of the rail network

I am calling on the DfT, as the ultimate governing body for the railway and the franchising system in the UK, to instate a proper, fair and effective, regulated system for the rail network. Fares keep rising, the ticketing system becomes ever more complex, and services are often inefficient. I also call on a review of rail staff pay scales, for some positions, pay scales are in excess of what the position is actually worth.
