Rejected petition Hard labour for prisoners

Over crowded prisons?
I put forward this idea to ease over crowding in all prison throughout the UK.
Like in the USA the prisoners should have no benefits at all while serving time in prison and made to work hard labour throughout the day.
Cleaning canals, building roads, railway lines, motorways.Tree felling, land scaping for the local councils, gritting footpaths and roads in winter weather, general cleaning of the streets and roads!
This would ease the prisons give training to the prisoners and give them self respect and a trade after serving their time!
