Currently all apprentices are paid £2.50 an hour (until October where it goes up to £2.60) but that is not enough when you are 19 or over.
What needs to happen is any apprentice 19 or over should be paid AT LEAST the minimum wage for a 16 year old. (£3.64 per hour). Then it would increase to the NMW after 1 year.
