Petition What is wrong with new build

We are a small island, We need to feed our over population country, We have hundreds of thousands empty building/ factories/ office blocks across the country which can be converted into housing, we need our countryside to grow food allowing us not to be dominated or held to ransom by other countries as we are by our fuel costs, we have wonderful countryside we need to keep it once its gone its gone for ever. lets move work to areas with empty housing. why cant the government do an audit on all the empty offices, factories, housing and brown field sites in the whole country before we start making decisions on green field sites. We started the 20th century less than 20 million we have now heading towards 70 million. lets stop this growth before we have no room or food to feed them. Look at the price of rice what has that risen to, this is the way we are heading towards because of demand and lack of supply. time to wake up Britain and the government.
