Rejected petition Let the BBC prove its worth

The long debate has been is the BBC been worth the fee, My thoughts is if its worth the money people will subscribe, we get to chose if we watch movies, we get to chose if we watch lifestyle however we can chose to watch the BBC or not but we still have to pay for the privilage.
The technology is available to enable us to subscribe to channels we like, surely if BBC is as good as they say it is we would be happy to pay the subscription fee (within reason) to watch it. My petition is that the BBC should open a subscription only service and those that want to watch can by paying a fee, and those that don't want to subscribe to BBC, do not have to pay to have a TV, computer, Radio or any other recieving device in their home.
We are a country of choices and this should be one of them.
