Should Palestine apply for recognition as a state by the UN, I would hope that Messrs Cameron and Hague would follow up their support for 'freedom and democracy' in Libya by voting in the security council in favour of such a request. Moreover, I would hope that they would make every effort to dissuade the Obama administration from vetoing such a move.
