Petition Change the day General Elections are held from Thursday to Sunday

We would like the Government to change the day of the week that General Elections are held from a Thursday to a Sunday. We believe that moving the day to a weekend means that more people will be able to vote.

More details

Thursday is a normal working day which means that the hours where people can visit a polling centre are limited. But on a Sunday many people do not work and would have more free time to go vote.

What are Westminster Hall debates?
