Petition Make organ donation register legally binding
More details
Upon our death, unlike bequests in a will, our wishes for the donation of our organs are subject to the consent of our next of kin. Why upon our death should our next of kin be able to overturn our wishes, which we have made known via the register?
The consent for organs should have similar legal status to a will.
If for legal reasons a new ' legally binding register ' would be needed then one should be established
