Petition Private Hire Liciencing

It is my desire that we have a nationwide scheme to issue both Private Hire and Hackney Carriage Liciences which are issued based on the drivers ability to do the job as it should be done as opposed to the local councils differing degrees of standards thus insuring that the drivers doing the job is both capable and safe enough to be trusted with the welfare of the general public.
I believe that once the licience has been achieved it should be transferable to any local authourity and the driver should be able to work anywhere he is capable of doing the job with all the modern technology anyone can find their way around these days but not anyone can do the job to the standards the general public both demand and deserve.
