Petition Tax transparency – The Tax records of individuals should be published on line to enable the public to prevent tax avoidance.

The recent MP’s expenses scandal shone a light into the ‘tax avoidance’ opportunities available to people who do not pay tax via paye. The ability of government to ‘police’ the tax system is limited. A transparent system where all individuals tax records were published on line would enable the public to scrutinise and report discrepancies. This would encourage people to be open and honest about their tax affairs.
