Furthermore, if we do this using our existing capacity for Naval shipbuilding we will also redirect public expenditure into high tech manufacturing industry.\r\n\r\nAs a first step every ship that we can get to sea must be got to sea, and we should re-negotiate all existing contracts to get 50% more Ships for 30% more cost - three Queen Elizabeth class carriers not two, nine type 45 Destroyers not six, ten or twelve Astute class submarines not seven - the Carriers with full air wings, the warships with a full weapons fit. During this Parliament the Royal Navy needs to start to grow to a hundred or more ships, not fall to thirty or less.\r\n\r\n","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2011-08-04T18:15:36.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:26:29.353Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:32:48.198Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2011-08-04T18:15:36.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"duplicate","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}}}
