People die on the railway by failing to follow simple rules. It is unheard of to consider fencing roads off to prevent pedestrian access because children should be taught how to cross roads safely and legally. The same should apply to the railways as there are safe and legal ways of crossing the railway.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Your submission is not a petition calling for Government action, but rather a call to members of the public not to sign an e-petition. If you wish to pursue this, we suggest you raise your own petition calling on central Government to take some action (for example, calling for compulsory railway safety training in schools).
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
