In these hard times, why do we as a nation continue to fund wealthy people and ignore the suffering of the poor?

It is not fair that wealthy and millionaire pensioners can get £400 winter fuel, free buss pass/tv licence/prescription, AA or DLA, while the poorer pensioners and vulnerable in society struggle.

This needs to change immediately, and money saved put towards help for the poor. The reason it hasn't changed so far is because the government are afraid of upsetting the wealthy pensioner voters.
