Petition A review of the laws relating to telephone cold callers and scams

In ever increasing numbers people are being phoned up by people selling things and wishing to obtain your details and although laws are in place to fine people who do so at home and abroad it is still a common problem.

I would like to see the following steps taken :

That the issue be put before Parliament and/or discussed by a comittee to discover the full extent of the problem.

That steps are taken to ensure that greater awareness is created within communities particularly for those who are more vulnerable members of society.

I would also like to see a review of the current laws and legislation.

It is common problem but one that is complex as the problem is created at home and abroad . I feel that it is something that needs greater consideration to stop these nonsense callers and fraudsters from interfereing with our lives.
