Rejected petition Official Paralympic broadcaster to donate all monies made from television and web advertising during live broadcasts of Paralympic events to the IPC

More details

Channel 4, as official Paralympic broadcaster, has broadcast adverts both on the television and on their live-streaming website which have interrupted live coverage of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

The signatories on this petition demand that the government do the following:

1) Insist that Channel 4 publically declare the value of all monies procured from the sale of advertising space during all televised and web-streamed Paralympic events.

2) Insist that Channel 4 donate in full, the aforementioned monies procured from the sale of advertising space to:

International Paralympic Committee (IPC)
Adenauerallee 212-214, 53113 Bonn, Germany

This should be done so that Paralympians past, present and future can benefit from these funds.

Thank you.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.

This is a matter for the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), who were responsible for the choice of Paralympic broadcaster.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
