In light of 8+ years of selfless devotion to the cause of brining the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games to London and through inspirational leadership helping deliver games that will always be remembered.
As the respected former athlete and now BBC commentator Brenden Foster said in an unguarded moment during the games "just look at all of this Seb has done this and he's just a runner like us". This was never about self importance or self gratification for Lord Coe but a greater honour will go some way to demonstrate the nation's gratitude
