Rejected petition False claims of rape should be made into a criminal offence

Rape.
A vile, discusting crime with deserves the highest punishments. However False claims of rape are just as bad. They waste police time, tax payers money and cause the REAL victims to be treated as criminals.
If a person is found (and 100% proven) to of falsely accused someone of rape they should face stiff penelties - a hefty fine and prehaps even a prison sentance.
By stopping the false claims of rape, real victims can come forward - unafraid of the law and been branded liers and prehaps there wont be another 'Jimmy Saville' - praying on young women for 50 years
