In light of the historic abuse of children in "Christian care", the covering up of child abuse by priests and the recent attitudes of some (but by no means all) Christian and other faith leaders to equal marriage, we ask the government to help set up an inquiry to help religions examine their collective institutional fears, insecurities and bigotries that they may move out of denial towards being a more wholesome influence in National life.
