This small change would put more hours of daylight where we want them most.  Postponing dusk by an hour would make March a proper Spring month, creating enhanced health and wellbeing, with greater opportunities for after-school and after-work activities: more sports, more gardening, and a boost to the economy. There would be a huge psychological impact: who doesn't want 8 months of “summer” and only 4 months of “winter”?\r\n\r\nThe problems associated with later sunrises, particularly felt in the North of England and Scotland - which have so far stopped the introduction of year-round British Summer Time - would be minimised by making the change in February, leaving the other winter months as they are.\r\n\r\n\r\n","committee_note":null,"state":"rejected","signature_count":1,"created_at":"2013-02-22T15:35:39.000Z","updated_at":"2020-02-16T19:28:53.987Z","rejected_at":"2017-06-21T12:40:46.616Z","opened_at":null,"closed_at":null,"moderation_threshold_reached_at":"2013-02-22T15:35:39.000Z","response_threshold_reached_at":null,"government_response_at":null,"debate_threshold_reached_at":null,"debate_scheduled_at":null,"scheduled_debate_date":null,"debate_outcome_at":null,"rejection":{"code":"duplicate","details":null},"government_response":null,"debate":null,"departments":[],"topics":[]}}}
