Petition Legal protection for dogs and owners where someone is injured when they do NOT have permission to be there
More details
Give clear legal protection to owners and their dogs where the dog atacks someone who has no permission to be in the dogs territory/on the property.
Put simply, if you do not have permission to be there and you get bitten it is your fault and the dog and owner should not suffer.
This should include children, if they cannot be trusted to not go where they shouldn't then they are not mature enough to be out without parental supervision.
This protection should include homes & gardens, vehicles and businesses, holiday accomodation, temporary structures and any venue that the owner is renting/using.
There should not be a need to prove the 'victim' was there to commit a crime - simply that they did not have permission to be there or a legal right to be there.
This protection should also protect a dog and owner when out in public if the dog atacks someone who is behaving in a manner that is intimidating or threatening to the owner/custodian of the dog.
