Following yet another child's life being tragically cut short I propose that if anyone is caught carrying a knife about their person, the offender is kept overnight in Police Station cells before appearing in court as soon as possible without bail, followed by an automatic 28 days jail for first time offence, automatic 12 months for second & life sentence for third.
Professional or recreational knife users such as chefs or anglers will be covered by law if carried in a bag.
