Petition Removing accidents from carriageways

Give either the Police or Highways Agency Traffic Officers the power to drag crashed vehicles off the carriageway (assuming no-one is trapped) and onto the hard shoulder.

They all have powerful vehicles and for the price of a tow rope could probably remove an obstruction very quickly.

This will speed up traffic, especially during rush hour, and reduce the probablility of secondary accidents that generally occour in the traffic jam.

Any damage caused by the removal to be bourne by the drivers insurance, if they are not insured, tough. The balance would be the reduction in secondary accidents.
