People are aloud to advertise on Gumtree.com all sorts of products that never turn up once you have made a purchase. Gumtree.com does not require the people who are selling to register with them so they are free to advertise without anyone being able to trace them. The Government need to make the likes of Gumtree.com to have a robust seller information registration process that is logged and retained so they can be traced and details supplied to the police if fraudulent sales are conducted
