Petition Call for HM Government to hold new Vote over Syrian Crisis
More details
British Politicians need to put politics aside when debating the Humanitarian crisis in Syria, and stop looking to the past.
Humanity drew the red line in 1925 with the Geneva Protocol which prohibits the use of chemical and biological weapons in war leave alone against innocent Civilian Men, Women and Children, which came into force on the 8th February 1928.
The United Kingdom's National Security Strategy of the United Kingdom (2008) security strategy document confirms the support of the Right to Protect (RtoP) Civilians during Armed Conflict by the British government stating that “the international ‘Responsibility to Protect’ ultimately requires the international community to act” to protect populations from mass atrocities.
Military Action is always the wrong thing to do, however sometimes the wrong thing can be the right thing to do, and in this instance, that is exactly what the British Government needs to do and should vote again on this subject.
