This is showing up hugely embarrassing lack of understanding on the part of the Committee members. You need to stop this before you allow it to confirm that these Select Committee investigations have no more validity than the show trials, which we have always criticised, going on in China. It could be, of course, that this is what you planned so you can wash your hands of any responsibility for the increases, which, of course, enriches your friends and those of your House colleagues who have direct financial links to the energy industry?
