If Ed Balls was advised by lawyers that it was safe to order the sacking of Sharon Shoesmith's then it is those lawyers who should be paying the compensation for unfair dismissal. Whatever, the taxpayer had no part in this legalistic debacle and it is NOT they who should be picking up the tab.
