There has been a significant increase (as measured by publicity in the national and local press) in Hit and Run accidents, Cyclist Deaths and so on.
Action is required by the department of transport to reduce road deaths.
This may include innovations like in Sweden where an air bag expands to protect cyclists when there is an impact. The UK is now lagging other nations in road safety and technology. Innovation and action is required urgently to address that.
