Rejected petition Extend the right to vote in the 2014 Referendum on Scottish Independence to all Scots-born citizens living in England, Wales and Northern Ireland

More details

We, the undersigned, appeal to the Government to extend voting rights in the forthcoming 2014 Referendum on Scottish Independence to all Scottish-born citizens currently living in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It is undemocratic and discriminatory to deny them the right to vote.

By doing so, the Government denies the most basic of social rights to (according to figures published by the BBC this week) 753,286 Scots living in England, 22,533 in Wales, and 14,965 in Northern Ireland.

None can vote. This is social injustice on an enormous scale.

Please end this discrimination. Let them vote.
