Shifting the green levy from energy bills to general taxation means rich celebrities (and politicians) who are allowed and advised by HMRC to take steps to avoid paying tax at the rate standard rate taxpayers do will now not contribute at all to the green levy. At least when it was on energy bills they were paying something but this recent scam move by our government will, once more, shift the bill from equal to all, to rest mainly on the poor.
