While most of the UK has risen from the recession the most deprived areas have not, in particular the area between Darlington and Redcar known now as the Tees Valley.
Action 1 Bring on more economic development
Action 2 Bring high profile (on an international scale) projects to the area
Action 3 inward investment into the area appears to have slowed and it is important to the UK economy and the region that inward investment is promoted and that High Value Manufacturing companies are attracted
Action 4 Unlike the rest of the UK there has not been an improvement in new start ups. New businesses need to be target particularly high value businesses new technologies and those that provide specialized processes, goods or services
Action 5 Identify what high value manufacturing the region requires and attract it to the region
Action 6 For decades many big names came to the region, that has slowed down over the past five years raise our game
