The current penalty fines for dog fouling are not severe enough to deter the minority dog owners who fail to clean up after their dogs in public places.
Dog owners who allow their dogs to foul pavements and other public areas, then leave it without cleaning up afterwards should be prosecuted with a heftier fine than the current penalty imposed.
