Petition Blue Badge restrictions for Private/Council Redsidents
More details
Change the law to make it more flexible for parents/Carers of Disabled Blue Badge holders to park near to the disabled persons private/Council residence especially in built up areas and main roads where parking is restricted. Private/Council residents ask for these bays for a reason to aid the safety of parking close to their private/Council residents to help a disabled person.
A carer/parent is restricted to park in the designated bay if the Disabled person is not present say you had to go shopping and you left the disabled person with a carer you came back to your home you would not be able to park in the bay although this is outside a private/council residence.
If you need to use the vehicle for the disabled person you would need to leave them unattended to move the car outside your property to aid a disabled person safety to the car. Putting the disabled person in danger this is both not practical or safe.
