Petition National Service for young offenders and immigrants wanting to become British nationals

I would like to see National Service brought back and used for young offenders to break the cycle of offending and jail terms, relieve the pressure on the overcrowded prison system, and give these young people a chance to turn their lives around.
I also feel that true immigrants who are wanting to become British nationals should also server some form of national service as part of the conditions to their entry into the UK.
