Petition Cigarettes available on prescription only

I would like to propose that all smokers in the UK need to register with their GP as "smokers" to be able to buy cigarettes they would then need a prescription and be on the register to buy their cigarettes in the Pharmacy.

I would say to give everyone roughly a year to register with their GPs with a set cutoff point. This way will stop any new smokers taking up the habit but allowing existing smokers to continue their habit.

Once the year is up anyone not registered as a smoker will no longer be able to do so this should in theory then stop anyone taking up the habit and effectively eradicate this poison from our society once and for all.
