Petition Display use by dates on the side of packaging

It should be mandatory for use by dates on refrigerated food packages to be displayed on the side of the package in addition to the usual top / front of the package.

This simple measure would provide the following major benefits :

- enable effective household stock control by immediately being able to see expiry dates of products
- reduce waste significantly as expiry dates no longer hidden below other produce (given that food packages are typically 'stacked' in most fridges), and therefore minimising the significant problem of forgetting when a product expires.
- major time and energy saving as reduces the time needed to open the fridge to find the use by dates, and would help to improve efficiency of the fridge itself by improving efficiency of how products are stacked
- no cost to the user (unlike possible 'smart' fridge solutions aimed at similar outcome)
- minimal cost to the industry
