Petition Swearing ...against ones will
More details
Having Tourette Syndrome, or reacting to foods and other substances with similar symptoms, does not make a person a threat ~ symptoms should not be used, by service providers, as an excuse to withhold services.
We the undersigned ask the Dept. of Health to ensure that doctors, care workers and therapists (and their front-line colleagues) are vetted regards behaviours that will exacerbate rather than alleviate their patients' symptoms (are trained to e.g. tell the difference between a distraught person and someone threatening violence), and to ensure that the testing of symptomatic patients is done where negative affects on their health are monitored by a specialist ...and treated, respectfully.
We also ask that a long-term public awareness campaign be produced, so that the threats which unsympathetic members of the public inflict on those with e.g. Tourette Syndrome, might finally become a thing of the past.
