Rejected petition Rotherham Child Abuse

Rotherham City Council should be put into ‘special measures’; ie all elected officers and senior managers be removed from office pending investigation & be replaced by an independent team of managers drawn from industry and commerce.
All elected members of the council serving during the period covered by the Jay Report should be immediately removed from and barred permanently from holding any public office.
All individuals who were employed by the council and attended the awareness seminars, and others where it can be proved they were aware of the child abuse, should be prosecuted for their involvement in child abuse and if guilty given a custodial sentence & placed on the Sex Offenders Register. All salaries & pension rights which they failed to earn for this period should be forfeited. These conditions should also apply to all elected members of the Council who should, in addition, repay all expenses for the same period.
