Rejected petition To make the RSPCA put a written warning on the Animal Acceptance Agreement, and Home for Life documentation of the society's high euthanasia policy.

More details

We ask the government to make the RSPCA put written warnings on the Animal Acceptance Agreement and Home for Life documentation, of the society's high euthanasia policy. Currently there is no warning. The following is the euthanasia figures of the RSPCA in recent years, 2007 66489, 2008 60203, 2009 63231, 2010 59384, 2011 53183, 2012 64295, 2013 in the region of 61,000 [figures are now given in graph form]. In 2011 the RSPCA euthanized 10 of the 58 animals taken in under the Home for Life Service. We ask the government to make the RSPCA put written warnings of euthanasia on this documentation, so the owner can make a better informed decision regarding the future of their animals

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not responsible for.

You have asked for the Government to persuade the RSPCA to change its documemtation. Regrettably this is not a matter for the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs as the RSPCA is a charity and not the responsibility of HM Government.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
